Government has taken their responsibility out of creating jobs. Its actions stifle job growth and make it impossible to conduct business through high taxes or overwhelming regulations. I will make it easier to start a business and create jobs that are sustaining. I will support lowering taxes on job creators, reducing burdensome regulations, and eliminating red tape.

I believe that every American that wants to work should be able to find a job. Today, Michigan’s unemployment is approximately 9%. However; this doesn't take into account the under-employed or those who no longer collect unemployment because their benefits have run out. Taking this into account, the true number is closer to 17%. In order to create new jobs, we need to start by fixing business tax codes and the debt. Both Debbie Stabenow and President Obama believe that government creates jobs, and President Obama continues to sell the American public on this failed policy. For instance, he is asking for an additional 400 billion dollars to a previous stimulus package that was over 850 billion dollars.

America also holds the largest oil and national gas reserves in the world. In fact, America has more oil and gas than all other countries combined. If we start drilling tomorrow, we can put America back to work. Unfortunately, the EPA has a strangle hold not only on our businesses but on our workers as proven with increasing unemployment rates.

I also believe the Dodd-Frank Act continues to hurt home sales. The policies for Freddie Mack and Fannie May have been the single influence to the demise of real estate industry. New regulations are coming out of Washington everyday and this must be stopped.
